Yay! I've always admired Alimah, I'm lucky to live in the same general area so I have gotten to see her since I was a baby dancer. She is a true community builder and a wonderful inspiration. I'm very excited to see the whole thing!

Oh! Much love for her! I've enjoyed her when I've seen her perform and she has always gone out of her way to make me feel welcome in Seattle!

WOW! Beautiful! May I say, her movements is very like Sandras' style of dancing! Not that I wanna say that she is copying Sandra, but probably learned from her as well as Summer Sahar or Maria Sokolova --- their movements very very "Sandra Style".
But I loved that video, lots of inspiration, useful tips and good quality! Thank you for producing!

No, she isn't a student of Sandra's. Alimah is from Washington and Me, Sandra, Maria and Summer are in California.

She was telling me at the shoot that judges at competitions used to say she copied Aziza... and also that she needed to work on telling a story. That is when she started working on these concepts and developing the style that she does now. I have seen the 3 California dancers perform literally hundreds of times (we all dance at the same restaurants), and I really don't think that she is like them at all. And the material on the DVD is definitely not anything like what is on Sandra's instructionals. Any similarities would likely just be from being competition dancers on the West Coast.

All I can say is WOW! Another fabulous production from cheeky girls, definitely stands out from all of the bellydance DVD's.

Love Alimah! Was lucky enough to be able to meet her in Seattle this May and she truly is a beautiful dancer and a very very generous person.

By the way, my 7 year old daughter drew a picture of that costume. We sent it to Bella who worked her magic and brought it to life! Now it's my "happy" costume.

I find it a great DVD - it really gives you a lot of material to work with. And the figurative way Alimah explains things is very amusing and useful at the same time. I wrote a little (or actually, not so little ) review for amazon.com. It is currently being processed, I will let you know when you can read it.

The best way to use this dvd, I think, is to sit down and take notes on it. Then read over the notes and watch it again.

The first half or so is all concepts. Take each concept and spend some time exploring it on your own before you start working on the combinations. There is so much content on this dvd that if you just pop it in and dance, you're going to miss a LOT.
