This looks like fun! I like that the music is real bellydance music this time. I admit I'm a sucker for these bellydance workouts - when I workout, I do not want to be doing jumping jacks and squats.

Who does the music on it? Is it Amir Naoum Chehade?

Part of the music is indeed by Amir Naoum, LiesaB - ! You correctly recognized the sound of one of the top New York-based traditional-style musicians.

COCKTAIL MUSIC SOURCES:
Some of the music is from Amir's own super-duper CD BELLYDANCE NY, available at World Dance New York (as is Amir's Doumbek instruction DVD)...

...and some of the music is from BELLYDANCING FOR FORTUNE AND FAME, featuring the venerable and much-missed Mogador Band...which I believe also featured Amir Naoum on Doumbek - ! This is a really wonderful CD published quite some years ago by the great Stella, owner of the fabulous bellydanceny.com website, which features this page...one of our favorites!

If you come to New York you can actually MEET some of these cats, shake hands and say hello!

O! Do I win a prize :-) Ahhh, I have both those CDs, yay! Too bad BD for F & F is not very available, last time I checked at Amazon, it had 1 copy new $12& 1 used $50...! It is great for classes! *Hint* for you to influence producer...

I just started working with it. Most of the moves are not terribly complex in and of themselves, but they do follow each other very quickly in some of the sections - aerobic workout as promised! YMMV, of course.

I think I need a little more floor space to work with this one. The dancers on screen don't look like they are using that much space, but I'm running out of room here!..l;,

Everyone who has a copy of Cocktail is going to receive a new one from World Dance New York toward the end of this month or the beginning of December.

This is because of a manufacturing flaw we just discovered in at least SOME copies of the new DVD. We don't think this affects all the DVDs produced, but anyway we are going to toss out the whole supply in our warehouse and get you new ones.

The DVD is actually fine for 95% of the way through. In fact maybe it's 98% perfect. The problem is just some missing audio in the second performance by Giselle and in both of the performances by Yoshina. After that the audio comes back normally.

I'm told the audio disappears partway through Giselle's second performance with quite a buzzing sound accompanying it for a second or two - !

The flaw does not affect any instructional portion, so everyone who has purchased the DVD can use it normally from now until your replacement copy arrives.

Sorry about this but hey these things happen from time to time... If it can happen to Toyota it can happen to us, I guess... 8'-/

Read post #49. A new batch of the DVDs are being made because of reproduction errors in the first batch. That new, second batch will be distributed as soon as they are available. WDNY stopped shipping any DVDS from the first batch as soon as the errors were discovered. You can definitely order now, but it's anyone's guess whether the ship date on that second printing will be two days out or two weeks out.

PS: Mosaika got her first-batch DVD in mid-November instead of November 1st like the rest of us, because hers had to go through international mail to reach her in Australia.
