Thread: Please suggest an "Old School Egyptian" clip collection!

YouTube is great, but I would like to have something I can play on the TV in other rooms than the office. :)

I'm looking for the Samia/Tahia era, and very interested in seeing the lesser known dancers as well.

Here are the collections I've found online so far:

Sausan Academy: Store
Dance in Egyptian Film series at $25 per video (each video features a particular star)

Hossam Ramzy - The Stars of Egypt ®
The Stars of Egypt series on Hossam Ramzy's site, $30 each (each video features either a single star or a collection of lesser knowns)

Various Artists - The Legends of Belly Dance (1947-1976) #01DB1000051
The Legends of Belly Dance contains later footage as well, which is neat, but not really what I wanted to focus on at this time. $20 for one DVD.

So, what would give me the most bang for my buck? I can only buy about $50 worth of stuff right now. Are there any other collections you can suggest?

I have a dvd called "The Fabulous Samia Gamal" that's pretty good. It's a collection of clips from the movies she's was in. It'd be worth checking out.

I love the Legends of Bellydance. All the footage is digitally remastered to take a lot of the graininess out, and it introduces each clip with with a display of the dancers name, the movie, and the year.

I highly recommend Hossam Ramzy's "Stars of Egypt" DVDs, for sheer volume of footage.

I second the vote for Hossam Ramzy's "Stars of Egypt" DVD series. I have 6 of them in my collection--each a gem! They are some of the few VHS tapes I won't part with.. ;)

I tried to order some today, but they all say "Out of Stock"! Are they going to get more, I wonder?
