This looks good, coming out on 1st December-yay! Another fab dvd from Cheeky Girls.

Looks awesome! I took a workshop with Lotus once and loved it! :-)

very dynamic, and seems to be nice and interesting choreo! arms articulations look Egyptian! I would looove to practice with this one, powerful fat-burning too ;-)

She was the author of my favorite combos on Combination Nation. I'm excited for this.

I'm gonna order it next week.

Looks interesting but I wish she had a contrasting color around her hips than just all black.

Woot!! I was hoping she would make a Lebanese style instructional -- this should be great!

I've seen Lotus perform and taken workshops with her. She kills it every time. She's not just an excellent dancer but an excellent teacher so this is going on my 'list of wants.' ;)

her drum solos in particular are great- she brings something unique and powerful to the dance... if you don't know her this is a good way to start!

adding this to my wish list...:)

I am pretty excited about this new DVD too! Drum Solos were a topic that was often requested of me and I decided that this should be first! A section on Lebanese style dance was included because my dance style includes lots of its movements.

Lotus is one of my favorite dancers and I LOVE drum solos, so this DVD is a must for me! I never tire of watching this beautiful dancer. :)

finally got it and watched it. LOVE IT!!!!

Lotus was easy to follow, understandable, funny, honest..... very real and catching.
My favorite section was the one on gesturing.. there were sooo many interesting arm patterns... concepts... and cute/fun gestures. I was inspired. I loved all the extras at the end- can't wait for her next dvd... maybe a lebanese one? I'd love that.
Of course, like all Cheeky Girls production, the production was fantastic and there were no funky camera zooms or other frusterating parts.

Def. glad to have this in my collection. It's NOT just another basic shimmy drum solo DVD.. it's got alot of great unique information that I'm sure everyone could benefit from.

... and Makeda and Jahzaal were just sooo cute doing the duet at the end!!

Thanks for the review Shiraz as I ordered this from Amazon a couple of days ago knowing nothing about Lotus but buying on the basis that if its from CG is must be ok. Really looking forward to getting it.

I agree -- Makeda and Jahzaal look so cute together!

I've had the DVD for more than a month now, but I don't think I've even managed to take it out of the original plastic. I think I'll take it off the shelf tonight!

I've never seen anybody connect w/ their audience as well as Lotus... she does it with her energy, her face, her emotion, her gestures, her movements... everything.. not just one or the other. If the gesturing section and her super-honest 'real' teaching style don't inspire you-- than you must just be nuts hehe.

You're welcome! I have found that dancers take drum solos as a challenge or shy away from them. I hope that I was able to present some tools for you to use in your own performances. Enjoy!

Shiraz, thank you for the review! I am so glad you were able to not just watch it, but to get some information for yourself. That is the purpose of my DVD series. I won't spoon you choreography, but help you develop a game plan for your own stage!
