Thanks so much for the nice feedback so far on the DVD--it makes all the hard work perfecting the DVD feel worth it!! :-D

Please note: due to the higher cost of printing the DVDs (because of the extensive printed glossary i put on the fold-out cover...) I do need to raise the price of the dvds by a few dollars to help cover my costs. The pre-order price will be in effect UNTIL APRIL 1st at Ranya Renee | Shop, which is the only online source for the DVD.

And when you have a chance.... I'd love to hear more specific feedback here on this thread on how the drills, demonstrations/explanations, and additional dance-oriented and music-oriented voiceovers are working for you, as i'm planning my next dvds.

I just received my copy (which I won from one of Mahin's Daily Bellydance Quickies contest -- thank you Mahin and Ranya!!!!). It is AMAZING... There are many things about the taqasim or 'problems' that arise while dancing to one, that I knew about before, but Ranya gave the clearest explanation I've ever heard of how to DEAL with those things.

I'm so happy to see the glossary, even if it did cost more to print/produce (and it's well worth a few extra dollars).

I have not gone through all the drills yet; I'll report back when I do. Just wanted to say that it's an amazing work from Ranya (again), and that this is the first time that my definitely non-musical husband asked me if I thought he could/should start exploring a Middle Eastern instrument. He's come along to drum circles before, and has been listening to the music as I do for years, but has always balked, saying that he has no rhythm or is tone-deaf. He was in the same room while I was watching the dvd, and after hearing all the musicians explain their instruments, he asked what I thought about his giving it a whirl. I'm not sure what clicked with him, but it's thrilling!

Teophania, that's great! thanks and good luck to your aspiring musician husband!! In the credits roll on the DVD there are resources for further music education too, in case he gets serious! :-)

I just treated myself to ordering the DVD - graduation stress is getting to me so much right now, I deserve something nice!

Ranya, I asked in the order if maybe you could sign the DVD - do you think that would be possible? (Haha, trying to get by until I can convince some event around here to invite you to Germany ) Anyway, even if it's not possible, I'm so excited! I love taqasims, but I always feel a little helpless what to do without getting boring. This should be awesome!

I can sign them if you like! It just may take a little longer for you to get it because I travel a lot... and then Raqsie will have to bug me to send it!!! But it's possible, just send an e-mail to office@ranya.net with your order to make sure Raqsie gets the message, and let us know who I should sign the dvd for, dance name, regular name, pet, etc....
