Thread: Princess Farhana Abs-olutely fabulous DVD... DVD-R?

I am just wondering if anyone else's copy is a DVD-R (purple) or if it's a "pressed" DVD (I think that's the correct term?).

Yep, all my DVD's from the Princess are DVD-R's. (..except for Bellydance and Balance released by HMC and Beginner & Intermediate Workouts distributed by Razor Digital... which are incidentally not workouts but identical to the instructionals Bellydance Basics and Raks and Rolls respectively). I have heard that some older players can be sensitive to DVD-R's but I have never had a problem with them in any player or computer and I haven't experienced any degradation of quality. You'll find that quite a few bellydance DVD's are burnt on DVD-R's (including some by Cheeky Girls and some independently released titles) because it's a relatively small niche market and doing it that way is more cost-effective. (I think you need to print at least 1000 copies for commercially pressed DVD's which can be too expensive for smaller companies and independent DVD makers... and us buyers too!) Hope this helps! :-)
