I wanted your opinions on this...

...so I am thinking about starting to make some bellydance themed trinkets (on the side from my photography) and want to know if these are types of things you guys would be interested in at all? or your thoughts:

    1. Wearable hand PAINTED art. Its not silk screen its painted. either designs or specific images on actual clothing. Some stuff ive done or am in the middle of working on for example: Henna designed gloves & scarfs, I am doing a front and back Bruce Campbell (actor) themed sweatshirt and Belly dance related Duet Sweatshirts with painted versions of the dancers on it.

    2. Non clothing actual paintings of either bellydance related things or specific dancers (yourself or someone else with their permission).

    3. Bellydance Figures made out of clay and/or Found objects like ticketstubs, bottle caps, etc....

the first one was my main focus but the other two are some other ideas I had and wanted your thoughts.

I'd like to see some bellydance figures made out of clay and paintings, Several times I have hunted for reasonably prices BD figurines to no avail and the one or 2 I have come across have been extremely expensive.

If you are good at painting portraits of dancers, I think many of us would want you to do so...
What type of painting do you do?
    Even raw sketches are cool...

Henna Ink-look ( and even colorful tattoo) design costumes on flesh colored fabric would be a hit for the tribal dancers!
I wonder if it is possible for you to paint mesh body stockings, midriff covers or nude tights...those would be cool too!
You could look at different designs of tattoos people like & paint it onto their midriff covers...I would order some of those!

Silk veils painted like henna! Foot covers, gauntlets...

Sorry, I can come up with the impossible! I will stop now...

Maybe small ones around $20 to 25 to larger ones up to around $40 or something, I don't really know if they are realistic prices though.

I would love to see paintings of bellydancers in any of the media, acrylic, oils or water paints. And little BD figurines would be adorable, they would make great gifts. And if the paintings are good I'd put them on my wall. Price range...$10-30 for the figurines and under $100 for the paintings, that reasonable?

I am going to mess around a bit when i get home (in jan) and see what I come up with. art stuff is kinda similar to bellydance costumes where depending on what you want changes the price around.

It make take me some time to play around with the different stuff to get things just right so as i start posting them up on FB (& etsy) feedback is always welcome cuz i want to make things you guys like and want :)

I will deff try to keep price range ideas in mind. so some may be in those ranges some may be a little above.

    Hey,

Good luck! I look forward to seeing what you come up with. I've wanted to get into doing bellydance art for a looong time (who wouldnt want to draw gorgeous dancers and costumes all day!) but I've been so out of practice since my degree I need some serious art rehab. Henna gloves sound great - could be like patterned versions of the lace gloves tribal dancers wear to keep their bracelets on, so you don't have to worry about them not looking like gloves?
