DVD to accompany Anasma's?
Hello everyone,
because I'm going to be taking two Anasma workshops in March I wanted to buy her DVDs beforehand. I've only been dancing for a year and a few months, so I thought that this way I might be able to keep up better.
I've read in reviews, however, that some things aren't explained well/slowly enough for newbies to that whole hip-hop business - and a few reviewers suggested using Elisheva's "Pop & Lock" to drill the basics better. I also like the look of Fayzah's "Android Goddess", though.
Has anyone purchased "Android Goddess" yet and could tell me if it would be a good companion DVD to Anasma's? I'm not sure if I can afford 4 DVDs right now, seeing that I'm ordering from Europe, but 3 would be okay.
Any advice would be appreciated,
Kjesta

Hi
I have Android Godess, but I dont have Elisheva's DVD or Anasma so I can not compare.
But based on my experience in Elisheva's classes, I would prefer Elisheva's. She is amazing teacher with impeccable technique and such sweet person.
If you have questions about Android I can answer.

Re: DVD to accompany Anasma's?
I love Anasma, and I have her DVDs. Her teaching aone was completely fine to me. You will be completely fine with just her DVDs, if when you don't get something first time you put the lovely Anasma on pause, and practice the move on your own until you get it. Her DVD's are ones to work with, rather than just play and follow along.
I've got both her DVDs and been to her workshops. You don't need to buy both at the same time - they are so chock a block, and the moves really need practicing to get properly, just getting her first DVD (hip hop liquid fusion) will I promise you be more than enough to get you going! It took me the best part of a year to properly get all the stuff on her first DVD. And I still haven't finished learning the choreography!
I would advise just getting the first anasma DVD and working on it, going over the bits you need extra practice on to your favourite music. And don't be scared to rewind and go over an explanation again and again, as sometimes it takes a while for brain to transfer to body!

Re: DVD to accompany Anasma's?
Thank you both!
Demelza, the reason I was considering both is because one of the workshops is called "Wave Explosion", so I thought I'd be better prepared if I know the dvd already.
However, seeing that I just broke my Nintendo DS today, I think I really will go with Anasma's first dvd only. It's easier on my finances.
