Thread: Bellydance Artistry - a new DVD Project from Tempest

(I hope this is in the right spot - announcing both the project and the fund-raiser to help make the project happen!)

I am very excited to announce that I am working on a new DVD project called: "Bellydance Artistry." The DVD will include not only signature movements and accents in the Nouveau Noir Style (with precise instruction as well as multiple practice options), working with foundation moves and energy flow, but how to create an artful performance from concept to creation as well. The DVD will feature original music by Nathaniel Johnstone (of Abney Park & The Nathaniel Johnstone Band). Shooting will take place in April and if all goes according to plan, we're hoping to have the finished product by Tribal Fest 11/Spring Caravan.

This project is being self-produced. We're going this route to make sure the creative vision and distinct material remains intact from beginning to end, putting out the best quality product possible, while directly supporting the artists and community involved.In order to help fund this project to make it happen according to schedule, we're holding a multi-level fundraiser, right here, right now! The fundraiser will help us cover the costs of production, music development and licensing, and manufacturing - an estimated $4800. While that may seem like a lot, we're confident that with your support, we'll reach our goal by April 1 (no fooling!)! Every donation counts and is greatly appreciated - and we're offering you some pretty great rewards too!

Just a quick update to announce we're nearly at 70% funded as of this morning, and on schedule for the shoot/music, therefore we should be on time for a Tribal Fest/Spring Caravan delivery!

We're at 85% - so all of our pre-production costs have been covered, so we just have the last push to go to cover manufacturing and a couple of weeks to do it. We will be taking the buttons down (and all of the related perks - which includes limited edition artwork, music download discounts, signed DVDs) on April 15th - or if we hit our goal - whatever comes first. Then regular pre-order buttons will take their place, so especially for overseas folks, this is a great chance to order the DVD plus get some great perks for about the same cost just the DVD + shipping will cost once it's ready.
