Thread: Dina technique or workshop dvds -- who makes em?

Is Little Egypt the only producer of Dina technique or instructional dvds/videos?

Or is she making her own, like Raqia?

My google-fu didn't get me very far. THANKS!

I believe Little Egypt are the ones both filming/distributing filmed workshops with Dina.. can´t remember anything she produced herself?There may be other workshop tapes from other countries she visited.

How are the quality of the LE dvds?

I have the Montreal 2007 workshop DVDs, and am reasonably happy with the quality. Dina's voice generally carries through well, though my brain might be filling in the more difficult to hear bits from memory as I was there Dina was excellent about making the people in front sit down every now and then so that everybody could see her footwork, so you do get to see more of her legs and feet than you often see on workshop DVDs. I do think the DVDs are a bit expensive for what you get, but the price is probably in line with the production costs for a small run. I'm just waiting for Dina to do a Masters of Egyptian Choreography DVD

I have the LA workshop ones, and I think the quality is better than a LOT of the LE videos, especially the early ones.

Dina is on a stage, and the camera seems pretty close to the stage, so she's really the focus. Sound is good. Filming is not high-def, but as long as you know that, you won't be surprised.

You could always buy them all then sell the ones you don't want . . . but TBH no matter how you look at it, that is $500 out of pocket for DVDs . . . I couldn't convince myself to do that either. I wish LE would have another sale that would let you buy 3 for the price of 2 or whatever it was when I bought some several months ago.
