UPDATE: watched it yesterday, a lovely dvd! Andalee gives a brief synapsis of music structure, drums the common rhythms, shows what moves she uses to dance to each rhythm and discusses musicality. There is a complete choreography to Rachel's Oriental, a fabulous piece of music with numerous rhythm changes which she links to body movements. Well done!

I got this during the Cheeky Girls sale recently. Love it!

The only thing I'd like to have seen is a bit more congruity between the rhythm section and the choreo.... Maybe more discussion about the different rhythms and why the combinations work with each section.

Andalee has such a beautiful style and is so personable--I'd recommend this DVD to anyone who needs a brush up on music.

Hi Athallia!
My DVD is more about Musicality in general and doesn't spend too much time focusing on rhythms. I do have a relatively short section on the DVD where I give an example of several rhythms like Sa'idi, Malfuf, Chiftitelli (I can't recall what else right now, lol!) ... and with those rhythms I give an example of a type of movement that feels like a natural accompaniment. I wouldn't call them combinations. It is not a Rhythms DVD per se, but does address the general concepts of Musicality as it relates to Belly Dance and includes a choreography section to highlight how a dance can be created by listening to the music and phrasing. I hope that helps :)
