For those interested, the soundtrack has been available in download form for quite a while - Amazon.com, emusic, etc.

Did anyone see the show live? The one video promo I saw (and this was really early in the whole process, so it may not have been a true representation) looked like...BDSS reloaded, with the same standard lineup of dances we've seen from that show for years. I like Jillina--she was my very first workshop instructor!--and I respect the work she did with BDSS. But I'm hoping this show was a departure because I'd love to see her stretch her wings and show us something new. If it *is* something different, I'll be very excited to purchase!

From what I can tell it's a step away from BDSS. More theatrical, with a plot and characters. The different "styles" seem to be an extension of the character or what is happening in the story. So for example, The Oracle is a tribal dancer (Sharon Kihara) and the style fits the intensity and exotic look of her character. So instead of it being one style paraded after another, it changes more fluidly with the story.

I've wanted to see a theatrical, plot based belly dance show for a long time so I'm really excited to see this!

Only "beef" is the characters are mythology based, but don't follow their character's traditional roles. So although Hera is the jealous woman as usual, Persephone isn't married to Hades. She falls in love with Apollo. Hera wants Apollo's attention. Etc. Mythology wise this doesn't make sense. I guess the idea is to give the characters a loose archetype, but I think it sounds a little confusing. So I will attempt to watch it without thinking of those mythology characters in their traditional roles and see how it goes.

i got to see the show live when it was in NYC, yes the plot is totally historically.mythologically inaccurate in a lot of ways and i was bitching about that at the time. other then that is realllllllllllllly goood. jillina used to do the BDSS shows but not for awhile so this is more story lined based and connects mostly better then the BDSS (i havent seen the newer ones so dont jump on me if thats not tru anymore)

yes diff..IMHumbleO better but diff category. shes an awesome director. No some of the same BDSS dancers some new (idk what show/country they recorded this one in) saw it live in NYC posted about it above

Great review! I can't wait to watch it! I don't think I'll mind the mythological inaccuracies. I kind of like it when artists take established characters and have them interact in different ways (Neil Gaiman's "American Gods" anybody?)

I just got mine - hoping to watch it this weekend!

got it watched it enjoyed :-) but I have to admit one of the highlights for me were the costumes. Some of those costumes inspired serious costume lust <3 expecially Jilina's mirror special!

Yes that mirror costume was I loved watching the way it reflected little rays of light!

Thank you so much for the great review!
We put alot of hard work into that show and we are so grateful for the overwhelming support.

Jillina, myself and the rest of the main cast are getting ready to work on a NEW show with a new storyline (No Mythological characters this time) and I think it will be even better then the last one. We will debut it in Los Angeles in Feb and we hope people will enjoy the new show as much as this last one, if not more :-)
