I'm so BAD with names of songs....what is the title of the song she is using in the video promo??

I lucked out and have a free copy on the way to me. I'll post here and let you know.

I know Rosa personally. She's a friend and former troupe mate. She's a lovely dancer to watch and has made an incredible effort to hone her craft, down to the smallest detail. She's studied with some of the best dancers in the world and hosts workshops here locally that feature some of the best dancers in the United States. Knowing her attention to detail, I expect this DVD to be fantastic. She taught this same skill set at the Las Vegas Bellydance Intensive last year. I wasn't fortunate enough to be able to travel to Vegas and have been looking forward to taking this workshop with her. Now I'll be able to do it in the comfort of my own home.

I don't know the song. Ask Rosa. She's here on Bhuz under RosaNoreen and on facebook under the same name.

This project was a labor of love. It's a topic that I haven't seen directly addressed before. I'm really happy to finally share it with the world!

Las Vegas was a blast, BTW! LVBDI is a super well-run festival with a leader and staff that really know what they're doing, and they care about making it a good event. It was my first trip to Vegas... sensory overload! But in a good way. :)

Wow, thanks for posting about this! I've been preaching this to myself for some time now, so exciting to see others using even the word 'stillness'. I have to check this out. :)

I don't know about the DVD, but I can say that I thoroughly enjoyed the workshop she gave on this topic at the Las Vegas Belly Dance Intensive last year.

ah, bummer I missed the special, I jsut got back to this thread.

I just received my copy yesterday and didn't have time to preview the entire DVD (for obvious reasons--it is so detailed!) but I am looking forward to working through the drills and combos. Especially like the emphasis on breathwork.

I'm glad I stopped in to this thread! After hearing the anticipation then watching the preview clip I just had to get it!

I should have it Tuesday--guess I know what I'll be doing next week!

I watched the DVD this morning. I recommend watching it first before dancing to it. I do that with my workout DVD's and it helps make the movements easier. I really liked the DVD. I think it helps create variety even amongst the most basic of moves. Intermediate dancers will find this useful to expand on basic moves they already know and advanced/professional dancers will think of new ways to improve more advanced movements. I like how Rosa explains how to keep the "stillness" alive and not dead feeling with the implementation of your own personal "secret".

I found I could learn at a faster pace than she taught for the combinations, so I simply fast forwarded a little. More Intermediate dancers or people that learn a little slower will appreciate the slow pace and those of us more advanced or quicker to learn can just fast forward a bit (Or take a sip of water).

I struggle a little bit with improvisation and I think the skill set taught in this DVD will help calm me without the fear of appearing to "freeze in the headlights".

This looks great! Ever since taking workshops with Mira Betz on the subjects of improvisation and slow moves, pauses have fascinated me and I'll surely invest in this DVD once I have money again. It looks great!

Ahh, I love Mira Betz! She's a fabulous dancer and teacher. Bet she'd have some great things to say on the topic.

I bought mine directly from Rosa Noreen and it arrived here in Australia very fast - 8days. Amazon for me takes forever - average time 3 weeks!
