Thread: Hateful Anti-Roma Video on YouTube - Please help!

To anyone with YouTube access, please help in flagging this video as Inappropriate/Hateful. ,m::

We don't need people fueling the fire on harmful stereotypes. My best friend is full blooded Roma and we have many people doing such good works for these people to bring awareness to their plight, destruction of their homelands & preserving their incredible contributions to music through song & dance.

Artists like Kostana & Sidqi of World Music Folklife Center (http://wmfolklifecenter.org/), & Elisabeth Artemis Mourat (Artemis home page) to name just a few.

Please help stop this kind of hateful propaganda. One person can make a difference!

okay, I figured out how to flag. What a disgusting video. Looks like something Hitler would like.

This is heinous! To counter this, I've added some vids about the Roma to my "Ethnic and Historical" playlist and put two about their persecution at the top. It won't help since very few people see my YouTube channel, but.

That's really disgusting. This person even calls himself "gypsyexterminator". I tried to flag, hope it worked. Oddly, I got a little message that said "hate speech refers to 'protected groups'". So does that mean that if an ethnicity isn't on the list, it's okay? I hope not...

I flagged it. I can certainly understand that 'Romani' vs. 'Romanian' is confusing to many, and I can understand the Romanian people campaigning for some separation in the public eye.. but that can be done without the stereotyping & hate speech.

And you thought all the Nazis had gone away !

Here in the UK, i am disgusted with the new Citroen car advert that has a guy driving through what can only be described as images very like that of the Third Reich, including symbols on buildings and everything is said to be so Germanic then of course the car is French.Beautifully filmed but I found it uncomfortable.When the German nation has worked so hard to rebuild itself as a modern and successful nation to drag up the past this way is unforgivable. You do not forget about the past especially when Nazis like our man here crawl outa the woodwork but you do move on!

I flagged it and clicked on the link in the message about protected groups, here is a quote from that page:

"Promotes hatred or violence against a protected group

So this video qualifies, if only based on the name of its author, GypsyExterminator!

I was a volunteer in romania for a while and let me tell you that this is the kind of stuff that made me go nuts with frustration on so many occasions.

I worked with kids in orphanages and sometimes i would take olders kids out to the park so they could play like other kids , go eat an ice cream cone or a piece of cake.

I can not count the amount of times i had people telling me that i shouldnt waste my time with those kids ( that happened when i was with kids who could be identified as roma) i should take care of Romanian kids , blah blah blah.
I always answered that to me all the kids were Romanians, I am in Romania and my time was my own business. Made me sick that they said it in front of the kids ( and that they said it at all)

The amount of times i heard staff tell me , this kid roma , this kid roma, ( i really didnt care)even point out family names to me if the kid had fair skin and blue eyes for example , and then of course proceding to the usual warning , they are thieves ,it is in their blodd, blah blah, and they would say that about babies or 2 year old or 4 years old who were so neglected they could even feed themselves let alone steel and beat me up.
never mind that the 'white' romanian staff were the ones stealing tons of donations probably justified it in their heads because they taught so many of the kids werent deserving anyway.

anyway over a few years i got so sick of all that, had so many discusissions, and if you tell them they were racists they just would deny it.
main decision why i didnt want to raise my son in Romania ( his father lives in Romania) . The feeling is so generalized , and i know the coabitation hasnt always been easy, not all roma are angels like in any other group , aaarg , i cat even put in words how bad i felt whenevr having one of those discussions.

'romanians' they didnt even understand why strangers liked Gypsy music so much etc. then would say for example , we have one doktor who is gypsy at the hospital , you see there is no problem... i always tought god pretect this doctor from making the smallest of mistakes cause they will come down on him like wolves , but they just didnt see what i meant.

I even had a high ranking political guy tell me in my face one day in a meeting very spontaniously , and with a huge smile:
Oh Candians and americans they adopt anyTHING they adopt hadicaped and gypsy children all the time.

I did cry in frustration a few times because of all this , i was beyond stunned at hearing this all the time.

I know that recently there has been a wave of tensions in italy with the big influx of Romanians workers coming to Italy.

Same result when I tried to flag it. Oh gee! They're not spotted owls or snail darters, only humans, so they're not deserving of protection in some eyes.

(Nothing against nature and animals. I love it, but any more saving humans gets put on the back burner instead of being a priority.)

Youtube is unfortunately FULL of this kind of hateful racist videos. Against every single group that exists, minority or not. I've flagged a couple of horrible racist videos before and Youtube has removed them and closed the user's account. I'll flag this one as well.
Just last week I got a couple of nasty private messages from two different Youtube users who were both, strangely enough...Native Americans, telling me to get my "filthy muslim ass" (they assumed that I was a muslim) off sacred American lands and go back to the cesspool that is the middle east with "my kind" where I belong. Heh. This because I dared to post a comment on an Ecuadorian video of some girls doing an "arabic" dance in G strings, shaking their butts in the camera and singing obscene lyrics in mock arabic. I just said that the video was offensive to arabs and I recieved a furious response.
The annonymity of Youtube can bring out the absolute worst in people.

Flagged, and how funny that they think they are so above Roma's, my ex husband is Swiss, and my ex mother in law, who lives in Switzerland full time said that the Romanians, not Roma are viewed as the street people, gipsy's and criminals!! Such BS!!!! People who live in glass houses........My first Turkish teacher was Roma and she was awesome!!!

A note to our gypsyexterminator guy: report in the UK press.... a British police force has taken on as a community support officer a Roma guy because he speaks 5 languages and will be invaluable to them. He eventually hopes to become a police officer

It seems as you go further into Europe, there's a lot of unpleasantness. Our black footballers get more stick(abuse) than they do at home ( which is bad enough)and the brilliant F1 driver Lewis Hamilton was subjected to appalling abuse in Spain.
We Brits aren't perfect by any means but we seem to be better at being multi-cultural than some!

I was "warned" about "gypsies" before going to Russia, and to be honest, I couldn't have told a Roma from a Russian when I was there. Plus, the Roma music is so well incorporated into Russian folk songs. It made me very upset. I'm actually very curious and intrigued about the real Roma culture.

This video made me very angry.
