    Leaning Tower of Candles...

    Is it okay if your candles are a bit crooked in the shamadan? The way these things are made, my candles are crooked--I couldn't get them to all be perfectly straight up and down.

    I don't think I've ever seen a shamedan where all the candles stayed straight. no, wait - once. but only once! I wouldn't worry too much about it.

    i always have to adjust the candle angle on mine. i figure it's better that the candle stays vertical then be aligned with the holder. sometimes it confuses people but once it goes on my head they understand why. i use blu-tac.

    I use blu tack too and find its the best thing for keeping the candles in place- yes its more important that the candles are straight up rather than absolutely true with the shamadan. I don't think it looks too odd when you are dancing with it though.

    Ha! I should've known you'd find this ,r:;

    No, I'm not posting the pics. Actually, I found a solution. I cut the candles in half so now instead of 9" tall they are about 4" tall. Then I was able to straighten them, with the added benefit of less weight to the shamadan, and less wobbliness. Plus, in the restaurant, I won't be quite as worried about the height on the candles causing problems with the light fixtures.

    So, I'm giving it a go tomorrow night. I'm going to video tape it, I hope. I'll post the clips, maybe, depending on how much of the building I burn down
