Drum solo
Hi!
This well-known drum solo is Tabla Bassem from Bassem Yazbek.
You can have it on:
Bellydance Orient vol. 26
Belly Dance by Bassem Yazbeck
Noura & Bassem (Oriental Belly Dance)
CD #3 Harem Belly Dance Part III (I think, not sure)
Have fun dancing on it!
Caroline

Thanks Caroline. I have Bassem and Noura (oriental belly dance), which seems to be a different album than Noura and Bassem (oriental belly dance). Both have a track called Tablet Bassem. The one on the former album (which I have) is not the drum solo I am talking about. Perhaps this has been the ongoing source of my confusion -- multiple recordings called Tablet Bassem. That, and the last time I posted this question on bhuz, several people told me they were sure it was by Issam

Sedonia, I have 2 cd's from Peko of Bassem & Noura. On the side of one the title is written in Arabic, or something like it. On the front of this one is the title in Arabic again, and below it, English: it's called Bassem & Noura- Oriental Belly Dance. Noura is wearing a black & silver costume, Bassem has on a green polo shirt, and sunglasses on his head. This has the drum solo from your clip. I use this in most of my solo shows, I love it!
The second cd is also called Bassem & Noura- Oriental Belly Dance but ONLY on the side. On the front, it's switched to Noura & Bassem. Noura's name is in really big transparent letters on the top, superimposed over her face. She's wearing a blue dress. Bassem's name is smaller and in white. He's in the green polo again, but his pose is different, he has shorter hair, a 5 o'clock shadow, and no sunglasses. This drum solo is not the one from your clip. This cd also has a date on the back, the first one doesn't.
Confusing!!

Just make sure that if you get it off the red amani CD that the sound quality is decent, my copy's quality is exceedingly low.

Well this is Totally Wierd. I have one bassem cd right now and this is the cover -- Noura in black and silver with great cleavage, Bassem looking cool in his polo and glasses. Totally NOT the drum solo I'm looking for on my copy of this CD. Also has tears of Noura and Noura Noura on it. I wonder if the packaging has been mixed up over the years or something.
Yes, confusing all right, -- as per track clips on peko's web store *this* is the CD that has my sought after drum solo. The second cd is also called Bassem & Noura- Oriental Belly Dance but ONLY on the side. On the front, it's switched to Noura & Bassem. Noura's name is in really big transparent letters on the top, superimposed over her face. She's wearing a blue dress. This drum solo is not the one from your clip. This cd also has a date on the back, the first one doesn't.
Confusing!!
Anyway I decided to side step the whole Bassem and Noura mystery and order Bassem and Amani in the red costume with the tambourine. Hopefully this will have it.

That's the famous Amani drum solo, Tablat Bassem. Easier to find the music than a clip of her dancing it. Totally awesome.
It is also on Oriental Belly Dance with Amany and Bassem Yazbek. Produced by Badawist Phone Nazih Diya & Co.

It's available at aramusic.com as "Amani and Basim" for $12.95 plus $1.95 shipping. I have this on tape but no way to transfer to CD. Ooops, there want another piece of my non-existence tax refund! LOL!
