    Old Reda Troupe clips

I just found some delightful clips of the Reda Troupe on Youtube. I had only ever heard of the old "Love in Karnak" movie starring the Reda Troupe, but I'd never heard of Mid Year Holiday. It's definitely on my to buy list now, it seems to have alot of great dancing and singing.
Mr. Reda was a cutiepie in his younger years. ..g.: The person who posted these has put alot of very good old clips up on YouTube.

    With Farida Fahmy:

Mahmoud Reda doing an interesting Lasso drum solo?

    This one's cool:

Midyear Holiday was Reda Troupe's first movie, made in 1963. Love in Karnak was their second movie, made in 1965. There was a third one which featured the members of Reda Troupe, but Farida Fahmy had only a minor role, NOT the female lead. That one was The Thief of the Lottery Ticket. Mahmoud Reda himself considers it to be a Reda Troupe movie because it stars him in the male lead, has the dance company, and features his choreography. But Farida Fahmy does NOT consider it to be a Reda Troupe movie because her role is minor.

So, according to Mahmoud Reda, if you ask him how many movies Reda Troupe did, he'll say three, but if you ask Farida Fahmy, she'll say two.

I'd love to get Midyear Holiday and Thief of the Lottery Ticket on home video with English subtitles. According to Reda, none of his movies are currently sold in Egypt. The government owns the copyright, and isn't bothering to market them.

Here in the U.S., the only one I've been able to find on home video was Love in Karnak. Unfortunately, the color is faded and the images slightly blurred, but at least it's better than not having it!

That's too bad that the other two movies aren't available. I would have loved to order them. I wonder where the person who posted the clips on YouTube got them? Unless the clips are from another website.
Maybe I'll write them and ask where they got these clips..

Have you seen the clip where Raqia Hassan is a hip 60-s girl and NOT a beledi girl?..l;,
I have never seen Raqia dance without spandex tights on,so this one made me celebrate with a chai latte...
