John Bilezikjian's New CD- "Atlantis"
I just purchased John Bilezikjian's new CD, "Atlantis" and it is one of John's best!
John Bilezikjian is "America's Oud Virtuoso;" he maybe the most prominent Oudist of his generation.
What I like about his music is that it embraces the traditions of Armenia, Turkey, the Arab World, Greece, Russia, Israel, Eastern Europe, Spain, Asia and Latin America.
If you want to hear clips from this CD check it out on his web site:

thanks for posting your thoughts.i worked with john last feb. here in fresno.he was selling the new cd, it was playing on the breaks.i just can not get into it.it is all electronic....weird.i can accept that from m e pop stars etc, but have a block of john doing this...im just weird.i hear bayla use it in the studio.there is a nice rendition of a long forgotten eddy kochack veil piece.but it is so, electronic...it sounds like a bad demille movie sound track to me.
lol, perhaps one of you can help me figure out why this is hitting me this way

I've only listened to the clips and don't know who the other musicians are, but it sounds like the drumming and most of the other instrumentation may be coming from a synthesizer (keyboard). I could be wrong, of course. I don't like that sound so much, either. I enjoy the "fuller" sound of a synthesizer along with live drumming and other instruments, but substituting with it works better when it's live rather than recorded IMHO.

Hi Zamora,
Are you asking me to justify why I like this CD? Isn't this a matter of taste?

Apadana...
ah, no..why would anyone get that from what i wrote??????
i can not put my finger on what bothers me about it, except that the electric issue is it.
i do not find anything about your tastes in my comment?????
i actually asked for imput as to why the cd struck as odd, for john b.
i sincerely do not understand why anyone attacks non issues, or makes something into an issue
whatever
......bye!
