Thread: Tribal group improv: What an AWESOME experience!

Forgive me while I prattle on about this... ..g.:

This cabaret guy has been taking a Tribal class for the last 7 or 8 months - today we had enough experienced dancers to do the whole group improv, follow and switch off the leader thing.

I did this once years ago in a Carolena Nericcio workshop, but had long forgotten how AWESOME it feels! Empowering and connected to one's dance sisters. The energy flowing through all of us was "quite the thing"!

Glad to hear you had such a wonderful experience, Zorba! It sounds as if you have another dance avenue opening up. Ohhh...and all those cool tribal costuming ideas!

I was lucky enough to see the winners of the troupe category at the Midwest Bellydance Challenge this year. They were amazing. I can only imagine what an experience it would be. So glad you loved it!

Zorba - That sounds fantastic! I think we are lucky every time we find something that excites us about this dance.

That's exactlyt what fascinates me about that style! I have never done it but watching I think, "Wow, how tuned in they are to each other." I'm glad you enjoyed yourself.

Its an interesting experience. The whole sisterhood thing I guess - it was a deep connectiveness.

Zumarrad - On the other hand, my improv group is playing around with it's first choreography. The dance giveth and the dance taketh away!

Who knows, maybe one day you'll be brave enough to dance alone!!!!!!!!

Yay for you, Zorba! It is a great feeling, both in improv and choreography, to dance with other likeminded individuals.

There is a certain degree of braveness needed in both group and invididual dancing and brava (or "bravo") as the case may be to anyone who participates.
