Found a clip from old Iranian movie, take a look at bellydancing there. Just thought was very interesting.

In the YouTube comments someone wrote that this was a Nurooz (New Year) celebration and that that "belly dancer" was a famous Iranian actress. I don't think she was a professional dancer, she doesn't look like one (to me).

That dancer is Forouzan, she was an actress/dancer and "singer" (she lipsynched for voiced over singers voices) in many movies. There are lots of good clips of her on Youtube.

oops I confused her with forouzan. they looks similar!

A couple seconds of it might have been alright, but she over did it.

I found myself watching the men doing their folk dancing and really liked that. I saw some khaleegy steps, some Turkish and even some Russian. Is this actual Iranian or maybe Kurds from Iran? I have to say that I am intrigued.
