Thread: Ranya's Baladi teleconference

Anyone signed up yet? I signed up for Wednesday April 1st (because I am a FOOL!) slot. It would be great if some of us Bhuzzards could get in on the same time slot and chat with Ranya together.

I signed up for one on the 1st as well.

BTW, I work for a company that produces transcripts for these calls, so I'm hoping we're the ones that do the work on them.

Please do yourself and the listeners (and possible transcribers and editors) a favor. State your name before you ask your questions and speak as clearly and as plainly as possible. If they produce transcripts, they'll turn out much better this way.

And if you're listening on a speaker phone, switch to the handset for asking questions.

I was thinking that I would come up with a list of question before the teleconference.

Anyone else for the first? I would love to hear your voices!

Yes, this is a great idea! I'm going to sit down this week and watch the Baladi DVD and make a list.

another tip is you have mute on your phone put mute on if you not talking. Background noise from one caller is distracting imagine 10

I am thinking about doing this with my cell phone and going outside and sitting in my car so that there are no tv, dogs, husband distractions to interfere!

I just sent in my request for April 1, hopefully there's still room.

Maria, the teleconference is just a phone call away! But I imagine the telephone charges for an hour to the US would be horribly high.

I am so in love with Ranya's baladi dvds. Enough material to work with for months!

I also received my copy of DVD and love it and would love to attend teleconference, but actually it is not really about telephone charges but more about timing... and I would say that is probably an issue with Europe too as e.g. Greece is 6 hours ahead of US east coast and we are already 11 hours ahead (or +- one hour to some direction as daylight saving time confuses me even more than these time differencies normally) so it is bit difficult to find suitable timeslot.

It is so convenient in the movies when time is always exactly the same all over the world when they make phone calls or travel etc ..l;,

I'm really hoping they're having these transcribed (hopefully through my company, and then I'll snoop in the editing so that everything is spelled right!) and then that way at least people can see the info.

I'm sure you've all heard about the cancellation! Poor Ranya! I'm glad she's safe.

April 1 ladies, please post your rescheduled date when you have one. I hadn't signed up for today because I didn't feel I had spent enough time with the videos yet to participate intelligently, but there are some Bhuz voices I'd love to hear.

It didn't really occur to me that my post is vague and sounds alarming! Sorry about that!

Eek, I hope it's not rude to relay the story, but it's good news all in all, so here goes.

She emailed to say there was a fire in her apartment building, but that she and her cats, and computer are OK! No one in her building was hurt and she only suffered some water damage.

I'm sure she'll pop by and say something though, so my apologies Ranya if I'm sharing too much.

April 1st ladies, should we ask Ranya to reschedule another Wednesday night for us so we bhuzzers can participate together?

Zana, you HAVE to get the dvds. They are incredible. I think I am completely spoiled now for anyone else's/

Wednesdays are generally wide open for me, so I'd be up for another Wednesday. I had even thought of a question and everything!

Ranya's DVDs really do set a new benchmark.

Just haven't yet spent the kind of time with them that they deserve. I am picturing you eating them up with a spoon and will be doing the same when my schedule lets up a bit.

Okay, lets find a Wednesday and maybe Zana will have time to eat up her dvds with a spoon too. Seriously, Zana, how can you let them sit there and not watch. You just can't believe how luscious they are.

I was scheduled for this evening, and would also love to find another Wednesday night (it's my one usually free weekday evening!).

I'm so glad Ranya is okay! And Zana--get to work so you can join us!;) These DVDs are really something special.

I'm staying tuned in to see what everyone signs up for. I really want to be there when you lovely ladies (and gents, if any?) are going to be there. But I actually don't have my dvds yet. I need to hurry up and get them! Finances have been tight and I spent my extra cash on a cute little balady dress instead of the dvds..... oops! but it sorta counts as an effort in the right direction, right?

My DVDs haven't arrived yet so I haven't signed up for a teleconference yet. Should have been here by now but I have a feeling they may have been held up at customs :(

I just emailed Ranya to see if there is another Wednesday she could schedule us for. There were no other Wednesdays on the schedule she has at her website. Will post her reply.

Got mine the other day, but life has been such (trying to make room in my Mom's old place after a move, I inherited my packrat tendencies honestly!) that I've only had a chance to skim the Baladi one. Looks awesome so far, though!

Ranya says that she can schedule another Wednesday evening teleconference for us as a makeup for the one that was cancelled last night. It would need to be AFTER the weekend of the 18 and 19th of this month. She asked me to get feedback from everyone who was signed up for last night and anyone else who wants to participate with us from here at Bhuz. When I hear from you I will let her know and she will put it on the schedule. If you cannot do a Wednesday night, there are other time slots listed on her website that you sign up for.

So please let me know here or by email at wssfetch at nettally dot com or by pm so that I can let Ranya know that we want to do that.
