Thread: Russian dancers

Who should I look out for when trawling YouTube for videos of Russian bellydancers. I know there's a strong scene there, and I fell in love with Natalia Strelchenko years ago.

But who do the Russians on the board reccommend?

Also Maria Shashkova, Irina Popova and Nour

I like Maria Shashkova veeeery much - although she is a bit rough and wild sometimes. Zhenya Kopteva is technically flawless but bellydances only since four or now maybe five years, the other dancing background is ballet. Just very beautiful to watch.
- Irina Popova's background is btw. sports-gymnastics (it's interesting to know I think) but Popova is not among my faves here -

I found a dancer I like, Mona Amar, she is not from St. Petersburg or Moscow, I got an answer on youtube to where she was from but I don't remember.
Also Sofiya Sarkisyan I like some clips of hers. She is Armenian but belongs to the "Russian" scene, that is speaks Russian and participates in the Russian contests, Moscow being the center of events.

Katia Eshta, a very tall woman, lives and dances in Cairo, (but is not among my faves).

Nour is amazing and I like Aida Hassan too!

Nour and Fadda are my favorites!
also Saida (she is argentinian) is a fabulous dancer! I'm studying her style now!!!!

I thought the Russian bhuzzers would know more about their current scene, but all feedback is good!
