Ayshe's video on the subject is really good. What she stresses most is posture.

If your ribcage isn't lifted and wiiiiiide open, the wings will be a disaster.

The other thing is arms: those gracefully curved and flowing arms we work so hard on are miserable with wings. Your elbows and wrists have to be fully extended, and the wing an extension of that straight line...everything moves from the muscles in the upper back.

I had a tendency to bend one wrist and I really had to battle it for wings!! I see dancers on youtube using wings with bent elbows and wrists, it makes me a little nuts.

Its only personal opinion but I absolutely HATE seeing dancers do snake arms with wings, it ruins the tine of the wings. On a positive note I like the 'flutter' or 'shimmer' some dancers do, done well it's almost unnoticeable in the arms ans makes the wings shiver beautifully, it looks especially amazing with two tone iridescent wings
