    I think this is an excellent point. After taking Yousry Sharif-style Egyptian technique classes for a few years, I decided I wanted to try out the classes of a local AmCab teacher, because she had a (well-deserved) reputation for turning out polished performers. I went to her beginners class not because I didn't already know a hip drop from a hip twist or because I *wanted* to learn yet another beginner choreography but because I was a beginner to her style of teaching, her methodology, her technique, her terms, her use of zills, etc. One semester of her beginners class was enough to bring me up to speed on her as a teacher for me to move ahead to her more advanced classes, but I really would have been pretty lost in the advanced classes without that initial semester.
