Thread: Videos clips of cape work?

I've acquired a nylon cape veil, an ankle length full circle with armholes. It's absolutely lovely but a very different thing than dancing with a regular veil - or with wings. I did look at the (short) old thread from 2007 about capes.

Anybody got any cape clips in their collection? I need some tricks!

I don't have any clips handy, but I remember seeing quite a bit of capework being done by Amir Thaleb. You could search youtube for him and probably find something cool.

I remember Atlantis (of Tanya and Atlantis, in the Los Angeles area) did some dramatic cape number on one of the IAMED videos. Maybe she's got some footage on YouTube somewhere?

That's a great clip, but there are more floating around with full-on capes -- although he's really doing capework with his cape-coat in this one, too.

Yeah Amir is wearing more of a robe then a cape so he can manipulate it like a skirt. I've worn robes before and long capes and short capes. I prefer the short capes because they act almost as a circular veil. Just coming out in a long cape is dramatic enough. Just swirls and swirls of fabric. I used to do the one arm twirls and spins similar to what you saw Amir do in the video. Spins are key. Just play with it.

I'm glad you like! Here's one of me with a full split cape. I don't play with it much I just use it as a frame. Sorry for the poor sound quality. But it is live.
