Hey Everybody. I record one of my regulary lessons with my Zadiraks Dancers and i cant define the style.

    What i did there?

    Is this Contemporary-Oriental?
Or more Turkish Cabaret Style Belyldance?

    Or modern turkish cabaret style?

    What you think?

I don't see anything particularly Turkish there.

I think Contemporary Oriental is a good name for it. It looks like Jillina-style to me, I never know what to call that style.

I agree with Lauren, I don't see anything particularly Turkish either. In fact, I have seen very similar types of choreographies taught in Egypt by the Egyptians, with same moves, etc. I haven't heard the term "Contemporary Oriental" before like this term and also feel that is a good name for it. ..g.:

I like your accents! Nice choreography!

I agree. I see a lot of influence from ballet, but not the sort of moves/posture I think of as Turkish. Of course, in the US, we went through a phase where "Turkish" meant "anything that wasn't Egyptian, including crazy Rom fakelore," so it's possible my understanding has been warped by a lack of good instruction. There are very few qualified teachers/performers in the US who do pure Turkish style.

Yes, Contemporary Oriental is what I'd call it, too.
