Hah! Glad to know I'm not the only one who had the same experience. The swing version of Suzy-Q is one of my favorite moves in swing dance. We sometimes drill Suzy-Qs in classes at the Suhaila studio, and the first time I saw this I was all, "Hey, that's not what a Suzy-Q is!"

    Re: Suzy Q?

I had a super hard time imagining this applying to ANY belly dance that I do, but when I saw the clip from Elizabeth Strong I can see how it would add a fun folky bit to a Tribal or folkloric piece.

It doesn't track bellydance to me, but I think now I have seen it in Central Asian dance. Cute! But still not a Suzy Q ! LOL !!!
