The Lessa Fakir study -spinoff of what's missing in BD

Someone suggested studying how other dancers danced to this song was a good way to study music interpretation. I think most would agree that this song is "owned" by the Eygptian Lucy. I know there used to be a clip of her on youtube but I can't find it. So someone please post. I know there must be some clips of Dina out there too. But here are a few I found:

Our Lucy has/had a beautiful clip of her performance as well. I can't get it right now as I'm at work, scathing off again.

Be still my heart! Apparantly this is the same show that sparked the Raks Beaver thread. According to the comments the only great moment was when she danced Lissa Fakir, but I can't find a post!!!!

Lucy is dream dancing in this clip. I love that dress and those cute shoes at 3:30. She makes it look so easy and simple.

that's the one sold now on DVD as Sweet Star of Cairo--it's all in all rather odd. At least the makeup can be blamed on the fact that she was dancing in an ampitheater for a large audience who weren't seated that close to her. Sometimes I've wondered if the dancing in that show was overexaggerated and almost choppy for the same reason, so that people far away would actually see the movement.

Poor Miara...whats up with all the running about on the stage behind her? I thought her version has too muscular and busy for my taste, and if anyone tells me my legs are too far apart again, I will refer them to that post! ;-)

Thanks for posting. Did you just upload that yourself? I don't have the Belly Dancers of Cairo DVD. I have an old VHS tape. Lucy comes out wearing a green costume with some sort of crown.

Yep I just uploaded it myself. I also figured...while I'm at it, why not do another? Here's Fifi's Lessa Fakir:

I think I might have the one you're talking about of Lucy too on VHS, but I don't have the technology to transfer VHS digitally right now.

Okay, clips of Lucy and Dina. It's interesting in watching the clips of the great divas, Fifi, Lucy, and Dina, each has a different instrument in the starring role. Fifi-oud, Lucy-kanoon, Dina-violin. We don't have a clip of Soheir Zaki, but what was the main instrument in her version?

Dina is such a good dancer. It's a real shame she was attacked by wild dogs before going on stage.

I really do like Lucy's interpretation. Wow, does she know that music. She captures all the phrases.

I love Fatima Sarins version. It is very smooth, not too much emotion or movement. Very elegant and innocent at the same time.
