Inspiration for a sword duet
I have really enjoyed all the great advice and inspiration that you have all shared. So for the first time, I have a request for some choreography inspiration. A fellow troupe member and I are going to try creating a sword duet. We aren't including floor work and we aren't proficient at tribal. There are some videos out there that have syncronized moves and I have no intention of copying, but would like to have some ideas. Thanks for sharing, I truly appreciate your help. :)

Re: Inspiration for a sword duet
Even if you aren't tribal, I can't think of a better inspiration for a sword duet than Romka (Belladonna and Mavi)

They create really beautiful lines and shapes together.

This is true! I love Romka. The first video you posted Shems is my favorite of all time.

Re: Inspiration for a sword duet
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I learned that toss catch and spin thing from Shahravar - one of my other favorite dancers for sword (her and her teacher Zahirah who is also awesome and the first dancer I ever saw perform with a big Iberian Scimitar). Start at 3:40 for the sword section:
