Re: Dancing with wings...
I've just noticed the interesting form of their wings. The wings are usually all the same color - golden or silver and so on.
This ensemble uses two-colored wings - one main color and white margins.
It does look nice! Like feathers!
Where can you buy such wings, I wonder???

Re: Dancing with wings...
I highly recommend Wings of Ayshe.
The music is track #11 off the El Clon Soundtrack if anyone is curious about the music

Re: Dancing with wings...
I highly recommend Ayshe as well. I bought some red iridescent organza ones a couple years back and LOVE them! I just received in the mail today....my gorgeous purple lame and purple organza....they are gorgeous! I love that I can pick my fabric and that she custom makes them to my height. ( I am petite). She made them super fast too. She is GREAT!

Just met her last night, she's really nice. She also showed me a really nifty modification that she can perform to make multiple sets layerable to be worn together at one time

Re: Dancing with wings...
I've heard this pleating style referred to as "double pleated," but I've never seen dual-colour wings exactly like these before either.

Re: Dancing with wings...
WOW! I just wish that the camera hadn't done so many close ups so I could have seen the choreography as a whole.

Re: Dancing with wings...
It turns out that these dual-colour, double-pleated wings are in stock at the Bellydance Store. I stumbled on them today while browsing for costumes (which I shouldn't be doing in any case!).

Re: Dancing with wings...
DeeDee from Little Egypt had wings similar to these when she had Dina here in Chicago this past November. The wings were two-toned color-most of the wing with one color and a "border" with another color. Also, the pleating was similar to that of a honeycomb.

I won't even watch the clip.
Gestia, please stop promoting your teacher all over Bhuz.
At this point, I don't even CARE if Yana is a great dancer or not. I will NEVER hear her name without thinking "Oh, yeah, the SPAMMER from Spring of 2010"
