Not normally a tribal person, but this was awesome! I wish more tribal dancers did stuff like this instead of the gothy popy locky stuff.

I know what you mean. That became such a fad there for awhile and the only artist that I really loved loved loved loved to watch that way is Ariellah, but she's is evolved away from that.

This group is called Ujbaba they are from Moscow, and they are sister studio of FCBD.
Their director is Dr. Svetlana Dvoretskaya and I'm so happy because they came in Athens on July and performed at the Rachel Brice Show in Athens !
They danced an AMAZING mix of Russian Folklore with ATS, we are finalizing the video's and hopefully they will upload.
We felt so honnored and happy having them !!

Ah, thanks for posting! It is always such a joy to see really good ATS, these gals are so incredibly good and make me happy every time.

And, I also smiled in deep delight at the costumes - colorful (yes, one does not have to wear black!), interesting and so flattering.

I too liked the costumes as well as the dance. Nice to see color and smiles too

This group in the video is Fat Chance Belly Dance. I recognize the dancers, Marsha, Sandi, Christine, etc. The are doing improv, and they are indeed fabulous... this performance was for a "Tutankamen returns to San Fransisco" museum event.

I...uh....wow. NO WAY. How did they all know what to do INSTANTLY??? OMG. It is times like these when I remember how much I have to learn that I want to curl up in a corner and whimper. :) I don't think I have enough lifetimes!!

I love the colors & smiles too - group improv isn't boring when its' done right ..g.: that's what it looks like after a lot of practise & dancing together -

FCBD is wonderful!!! Thanks for posting that vid, it put a big smile on my face!
