I guess it was not uncommon for dancers to do all types of acrobatics in the early part of the century. Some were circus performers and vaudeville-style dancers also.

Wow, her style resembles the American Cabaret style of the '70s or Turkish or Lebanese styles more than the Egyptian raqs sharqi Golden Era style we are used to seeing. Very interesting! Not the most polished dancer (some awkward transitions), but wow, those backbends and splits and barrel turns were impressive.

I love the barrel turn, and the way she goes into it, but that drop into the splits backbend combo had me thinking "what in the world?" some crazy stuff...
