Thread: A few Bollywood videos

Having grown up in India in the 1990s, I thought I would share a few of my favourite Bollywood videos featuring bellydance/ dance which could be of relevance to bellydancers. I will also create a separate list of more bollywood dance numbers featuring more traditional Indian dances, and one featuring banjara/gypsy dances in bollywood. This list is by no means complete- just a beginning! I’ll keep adding as I remember more, and anyone else who has any more is welcome to add to the list!:

1) The inimitable Helen, dancing “Mehbooba Mehbooba” in Sholay:



2) Former Miss India-Universe (1994) Sushmita Sen in this number:


3) “Maiyya Maiyya”- I like the song more than the dance in this one:


4) “Satrangi Re” from Dil se:

Here's one I forgot- I like this one more for the costumes than the dance (from the film "Agnisakshi" (1996):

Yup, the Zeenat Aman one. I'd imagine they would have had a few more in the 70's too, which I don't have here- if anyone knows, please post!
