Thread: Talking to ethnomusicologists?

I am trying in a last-minute effort to write an abstract for an ethnomusicology workshop. I am an experienced, very good writer, but I have only ever published in artificial intelligence conferences and journals, so my know-how is in a completely different field. Does anybody have any fast and fabulous advice?

I know this sounds whacky, but there is a *long*-winded story why it is a reasonable idea. I promise.

I'd hurry up and read other conference abstracts and try to figure out what hooks catch ethnomusicologist fish. Emerging area of research? Fresh insight to an old question? etc

Ah thanks - it's actually for a local conference by the society linked! I managed to come up with an idea, which I hope will not make the reviewers think that I am completely ignorant, which is always a danger when venturing into a new field. Been there, done that in a past career ;-)
