Thread: Venus Uprising: The Zoo

I came across something interesting on youtube. It looks like a show that was done in NY last year called Venus Uprising: The Zoo, and every performance seems to be an interpretation of an animal. Here is Neon as "The Snake":



She's in another one called "The Wolves", and there are quite a few more performances there on youtube if you look at the related links. Didn't care for "The Spiders" but "Fighting Fish" was pretty cool.

I loved that song so much ("Serpentine" by Doug Adams) I just ordered his CD.

LIked the idea, loved the costume, but dang she danced waaay all over that music. A snake on crack. Great moves, just too much crazy motion.

It was very fast for a snake...
the Cheetah performance had some interesting elements, and maybe you could interpret the drum solo section as cheetahs "sprinting". :)

Sira's tiger number was great!

i saw the show live last year and it was awesome...im still mad they didnt make it into a dvd.

sarah skinner did a funny peacock and elisheva did an amazing lizard.

there were a lot of really good numbers :)

My favourite animal dance impersonation is Mira Betz's jellyfish from the Blood Moon Zoo show. I wish there were a better video of it!



That said, the above dances are all great. Love the pandas!

Ohh, fabulous, thank you!BTW, I decided to hit the search one last time with the album cover words just in case I missed it - it is available on Itunes ! Clicked, purchased and listening to it as we speak! So far, so good...

the panda number was one of my favorites...
Autumn Ward always does such interesting and thought through numbers.

Sira's tiger was super powerful and Elisheva was the epitome of everything a lizard should be...

Altogether I have to say that of all the Venus Uprising Shows, The Zoo was one of my favorites....really innovative and creative...if not downright playful
