Fundraising Bellydance Book for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation

    Hi Everyone,

I’m putting the official word out in my quest for potential contributors for the fourth installment of my ‘Bellydance for the Versatile Dancer’ book series, entitled ‘History, Styles, & Fusion with Fortitude’. Volume IV will be a compilation of articles covering a vast array of bellydance topics, from more traditional styles of bellydance to how different artists approach own explorations in fusion. I’ll be throwing in a few of my own articles here and there, but my role in this 4th volume will be compiler, editor, and submission wrangler.

Besides having an abundance of information all in one place, the most exciting part of this venture is that all of the proceeds for this particular Volume (IV) after printing/shipping costs will be donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation ().

This Volume will also include stunning bellydance artwork and pieces inspired by some contributors by artist Stephanie Bolton!!! http://www.maunaleamanor.blogspot.com/

If you or someone you know is interested in donating articles, photography, or artwork, or if you have an idea for an article or a subject you’d like to see included, don’t hesitate to contact me (zanbaka@hotmail.com) for more info and submission due dates. My hope is to represent the music, dance, culture, and history of the following forms and styles:

Ethnic, Folkloric, Regional, Devotional, and Tribal Dances
Diverse array of celebratory, ritual, martial arts, or trance dances specific to a certain region, ethnic group, or tribe. Even though many of these may not be considered “bellydance”, they are often included in one’s dance education and repertoire. Examples: Debke from the Levant region, dances of the Arabian Peninsula, Egyptian Dance, Sufi Devotional dances from various regions, Turkish folkdances , Balkan Dances, Tunisian Dances, Algerian dances, Moroccan dances, Persian dances, Central Asian Dances, Dances of the Roma from various countries and regions, Berber Dances from various countries and regions, etc

    Classical & Modern Egyptian Bellydance

    Lebanese, Turkish, or Greek Bellydance

Cabaret/Nightclub Bellydance, Especially Chronicles of *your* local Bellydance History

Old Style/Classic Tribal Bellydance (for example: Bal Anat, Hahbi-Ru, Bou-Saada)

American Tribal Style (ATS), Group Improvisational Tribal Style, Tribal Fusion, Modern Fusion

Various World Fusion Styles: Flamenco, Latin American, Polynesian, African, Samba, East Asian, East Indian Dance forms: Classical (Kathak, Bharata Natyam, Orissi), Bhangra, Bollywood, etc.

    Music, Costuming, Ethics, Issues, etc

I look forward to hearing from you soon!

    Regards,

    ~Zanbaka
