Thread: Kazakh dancers flashmobbing in Almaty

Hi ladies

I have just done a quick blog post about Kazakh dancers flashmobbing the kara zhorga dance in Almaty: Kazakhs get their dance on « Rattlesnake

I also did a search for some supporting clips as I know nothing about Kazakh dance at all, and was interested to see moves that are so familiar in classes I have been to - back bends, snake arms.

It seems such joyful style of dance - I wonder if any of you have tried it yourselves or know any more about it?

I know that watching this made my day.

I don't really know anything about Kazakh dance in particular, but I often find when I watch Central Asian dance I can see echoes of the relationship to Turkish Oryantal, especially in the arms and upper body.
