Thread: leila haddad - what would you want to study?

I just confirmed with leila haddad that she will be available for a workshop here in seattle when she comes through town on tour (yay!). my question: if you had the opportunity to take a workshop with her, what topic would you like her to cover? we need some ideas! thanks. :)

Leila is teaching some great Ouled Nail material, and that's what I would want to study if I were attending the workshop. She's done fieldwork in Algeria within the last couple of years and has a good feel for current Ouled Nail steps and movements. I also love her Tunisian Bedouin, and her Moroccan shaabi.

In addition to her folkloric, she is good at taking a movement and demonstrating beledi vs. orientale intepretation, which I think could be an interesting workshop. Also, she choreographs full-length themed shows for the theatre stage, so stagecraft would be an interesting topic, as well as her concepts of storytelling through dance, whether the show is seven minutes or seventy.

She also teaches melaya leff. But I love studying with her.
