I'm shocked and pleased to see that she finally allowed a video of herself to show up on youtube!

I respect that Princess Madiha never cared about being flavor-of-the-month popular in the dance community, and that she prefers a long-term, personal mentoring relationship with her students, but she is such a rare resource in the US. It really is a shame that she isn't more accessible to students. I don't suppose she'd ever consider licensing her videos to Bhuz TV?

No idea. I'm sure she doesn't know even know about bhuz.

That blurb only tells the highlights. Class was always filled with amazing stories as she worked in the hey day of Belly Dance in the Arabic world. However, fear that her family would find out she was a dancer prevented her from starring in Egyptian movies (as they were shown in all Arab countries). She was offered a part in an Abdel Halim movie, but turned it down because she didn't want her family to find out. The part was given to Nagwa Fouad (she danced to Ooloo Ooloo) instead and you all know the rest.
