battery candled Shamadan: where to get it?
Due to fire regulations in the Netherlands it's prohibited in almost all venues to use open fire. So dancing with a shamadan with lighted candles is a no go
Therefore I would like to get a shamadan with battery candles. Does anybody know where to get such a shamadan with those candles or do you just buy a regular shamadan and find battery candles and insert those? A European vendor or a link to a website/webstore would be great!
All help is much appreciated, thanks!

Re: 'electric' Shamadan: where to get it?
I get my electric candles from candlelite.com.au but the postage might make that unviable for you. I like their strobing candles but they do have a red switch on the side which makes them less realistic looking. On the upside, they use little watch/calculator style batteries so are not heavy.
There are flickering tealight candles which look really real ... does anyone know whether you can get these as pillar candles? That would be so cool!! The only ones I've seen are too thick for my shamadan.

I would bet a lot that you guys have LED candles in the Netherlands. I have (for a different purpose than shamadan) LED lights with button-style batteries that look like tealights.

Re: battery candled Shamadan: where to get it?
We have a lot of similar regulations in our part of the US so I have invested in battery candles for my shamadan as well (though I still keep the regular kind around because, when feasible, I prefer the ol'fashioned fire kind--they're sooooooo much lighter.)
My supplier is US-based so that won't help you, but this tip might: I found candles for me and my troupe gals through a christmas/holiday decor provider!..l;, They were pretty much the right size because they were made to fit in candlesticks, and they were happy to sell them in large quantities. The only trick was I had to be sure to tell them that I needed them for use RIGHT AWAY--that this was NOT a christmas order. So, anyhow, an internet search on christmas battery candles might help you locate something.
Another trick...we found that the battery candles, because they are so much heavier than the regular kind (b/c of the batteries inside) were more prone to leaning etc. So...we got "Sculpy"--a type of modeling clay that doesn't harden--to mold around the base of the candles in addition to the candle sticky gum stuff on the bottoms just to help provide a little extra weight at the bottom in the cups. This made the candles fit more snug into the shamadan cups which prevented the leaning issue and made them look *slightly* more natural (...at a distance...in poor light...hey, you're only going to get so natural looking with fake candles!

Re: battery candled Shamadan: where to get it?
I use blu tack to stick any kind of candles in real or fake-no wobble no lean-very safe-don't know if you have blu tack over there-you stick posters on the wall with it. I get my battery candles from Ceramic Supplies, Craft, Gift and Hobby Supplies - National Artcraft. its in the USA but they ship pretty much everywhere, they are not LED though they use 1 AA battery per candle which is a bearable weight lots of battery candles seem to use two batteries which is way too heavy-will be looking for some LED batteries as they will be much lighter I have some tealights that are LED from the same site which are good when there isn't much ceiling height. I do prefer the real thing too but some places just won't allow it.

You can now find them at Michaels or party store. I find them in the wedding aisle I use them battery operating for candle tray dancing. Real candles i prefer the shabaz candles they work best. Yo ucan also try places that do weddings as well.
