Thread: belly dance in Connecticut?

Hi!

I am considering taking a job in Bridgeport/Fairfield Connecticut, but was wondering about dancing there. I've been dancing for about 6 years and am looking for advanced classes and maybe being able to dance with a troupe.

Here are websites on the local area there is www.bellydanceny.com with CT teacher listings. or www.helade.com (new england belly dance )My advice is take a beginner class with any new teacher to see what her teaching style is like. to get the feel of her class and see if it is your cup of tea. I just moved from CT to Boston last year. I think Aszmara still teaches in the Greenwich area. There are also several very good dancers in the Danbury area, not that far north or where you'll be. There's a lot of dancing going on in New Haven, but I don't know of any dancers in the Bridgeport area. Alrana's resource recommendations are the best ones I can think of as well. Just make sure to email or call to make sure the info is up to date. Good luck!
