Well, its official...I'm competing in the Intermediate Solo competition!

Intermediate solo category is on Thursday night...I'm REALLY nervous, but its going to be fun. :)

I have to see which workshops are going on on Tuesday, thats the only day I'll be able to go because of work. :( But I'll be at all the evening events! :)

Yes, I started this one, and someone else started the bhuz meet up, no problem some people may not check all the different forums, and miss some events as a result!

On the site it says dancers must be registered to receive the hotel convention rates. By registration what exactly do they mean? register to attend? or is it registration for only dancers workshops or in competition? I am mostly interested in buying and watching.

i hope this is going to be a regular thing, that it will be a grand succes and you'll do it again next year or in two years!!!.

i'd love to come but it's too last minute now to plan. and those damn zill requirements in all those US comps!!!!!

Hi Aradia!

I cant get there this year but as you know, David will be there.
I think he is dancing on Tuesday and will be at Bahia's booth area.
Not sure what workshops he will be in but as an Egyptian dancer, he is really excited to be going!
Your group has done a great job in a relativly short time to make a cool event.
Congrats and I know it will go well for you.

Yasmin (or Tanya, Aradia or anyone esle who would know), I had a question about food options near the hotel. It sounds like South Point is pretty far down the strip, and I was wondering what the dining options would be for someone staying at the hotel witout a car. I'm sure South Point has some wonderful restaurants, but I don't think I can afford to eat there 3 meals a day for 5 days. Are there any fast food/pizza/cheapie restaurants within walking distance?

Aradia, I have some questions, I am not sure if you know, but I was wondering the open stage times are the same as the classes, do you think we will have audience? Or most people will be taking classes?
Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday night is competition, so there won't be other shows right? If there are shoes at night, who will be dancing?
Fashion show, booths, do they need people? Since I am going I don't mind showing new costumes..heheh
Do you know if they already defined the jugdes names? Do you think there is chance of the international teachers be judging in lets say the professional category?
Sorry so many questions, I understand if you don't have the answers.. I was cheking with Amira but she is out of the country.

The open stage dancing is going on 10 AM-10 PM, the workshops are during the day Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri. competitions are at night on Tues, Wed, Thurs. There are also shows going on, Monday night launch party featuring all the instructors minus the Egyptian/Lebanese teachers, Tues night is a tribal dinner show, Jill Parker & Rose Harden of Ultra Gypsy, She'enedra, Daughters of Durga and Ethnophonica.
Wed night I think is Leyla and the Lotus dancers, and Thurs night is Suhaila.

We may need models for the fashion show, I can let you know, as for judges all the workshop teachers are judging, including the Arabic teachers. The professional category will be judged by a mix of Arabic and American teachers.
