We are right smack in between Chicago and Milwaukee, so I thougth I would put both in the headder. We are so excited to announce....

Hiptastic! 2007- a BellyDance Festival!

**DATE: Saturday, June 30, 2007

**TIME: Noon - 5pm

**WHERE: Round Lake Beach, Illinois:

Cultural & Civic Center, 2007 Civic Center Way Round Lake Beach, IL, 60073

**WHAT:

-A BellyDance Show on a HUGE stage!

-Lawn seating for up to 3,000 people

-Open Dancing

-Mini-Workshops (intro to bellydance, hula, cane, poi-veil)

-Vendors (Jewelry, BellyDance Costumes, Hip Scarves, & more!)

-A Drum Circle (drumming, dancing, or watching)

-Indoor restrooms

-On a Lake

-Guests can bring their own picnics, no glass containers, or alcohol on premises

-Non-Smoking outdoor facility! (smoking section is on the other side of the building on the patio by the lake)

-and more! (we are currently looking for talented artists: Henna Artists, Vendors, Face Painters, Masseuse, Card Readers, and other unique talented artists)


**COST:

$12 Adults on or before June 29, 2007

$15 Adults at the door, June 30, 2007 cash only

$6 People 16-6 years

Free Children under 5, Children MUST BE attended at all times! Hiptastic! is next to a lake!

$5 off if you are performing in the Show

$3 off if you are a MECDA member

Oh rats, why did it have to be that weekend? I'll be teaching a workshop in Lincoln, Nebraska that day so I can't come. Whiimper, whine! You can bet that if I didn't have a conflict, I would have come!

at that time. The event sounds wonderful, I know it will be

Oh sad! And we'll miss you and Shira. Yes, we are hoping for a huge turn out and a wonderful time so that we can make this an annual event. It's actually a Zayna and Nilaja project. So, we'll plan on seeing you at Hiptastic! 2008 !

We have some great vendors confirmed. Along with some cool creative artists: Reike healing, $1 a minute massage therapy, Aroma and stone therapy, henna artists, face painter (for all the kiddies!) and working on more. We are hoping this drum circle is out of this world, so pass on the news to drumming friends! So far, the show line up is fantastic! Its shaping up to be quite a day. And we love love love that it is family friendly...pack a picnic and bring the kids.

So, pass on the word, we want to try to make it a tri state event. Thank you for posting it in Madison Tigerb!

The workshops will not include a warm-up. Please warm-up on your own before the workshops.

For the cane workshop- you can either bring your own cane, or purchase one at the Festival! There will be a limited number to borrow.

For the poi-veil workshop- Please bring your own veil (or you can purchase one at the Festival!) There will be practice poi (which attaches to the veil) for purchase & there will be a limited number to borrow.

Ooo...I can't wait to see everyone again!! It'll be great to work with everybody again too...it's been so long!!

"Arabesque" will be there with a booth of beautiful jewelry, hair do-dads & costumes from Babylon Breeze! I even have a small changing tent & mirror to try things on. Lots of Upcoming Workshop & seminar info will be out on my table so swing by & say I to Jonsey, Tara & I!

Forecast calls for NO rain!! and a beautiful 80 degree sunny day! All the performers are confirmed. 203 feet of vendors and artists just waiting to spin your head into shopping frenzy! The grass will be dry for the wonderful drum circle! And tickets are selling fabulously!! It's going to be a beautiful day!!!

Hey, for those of you who are coming, the venue is so brand new, that mapquest most likely wont know where to send you. Please use the venue website: http://www.rlbciviccenter.org/location.htm

The venue is also right next door to the Metra train station, for those of you who want to take the train in! Plenty of parking is also available for those car pooling. Don't forget to pack a picnic and sunscreen!!! See you there!

Hey Nilaja - I tried to buy tickets with PayPal for me and my daughter, but it didn't look like there was any way for me to subtract my $5 for being a performer and $3 for being a MECDA member. Am I just better off paying at the gate, or am I missing something?

Just send your total (subtracting discounts) through paypal to me at Theesfield at gmail dot com. Inlude a note with number of tickets and what discounts you used. I'll get those tickets at will call for you.
