Workshops & show with Leyla Jouvana & Roland, from Germany
July 6, 7, & 8, 2007 in Ringgold, GA (just south of Chattanooga, TN)
Workshops include: Rhythms; Raks Sharki/Balady (technique and short choreography in both); Hungarian Gypsy (choreography); Dance with 2 to 7 Veils (technique). On Friday we will have a veil tie-dye workshop. The Saturday evening show will feature Leyla Jouvana & Roland, plus dancers from around the southeast, including Gina from Atlanta, Debka (& Debka's Oasis Dancers) from Knoxville, Malin (Chattanooga), and Alexandria (Chattanooga). My troupes Desert Sirens, Gems of the Oasis, and Ballista Bellies will also perform (Yes, I'm insane with three troupe, I know...).

I truly wish I could be there! If I had known about it a little sooner I would have made it - I am going to have to keep an eye on your stuff Jillanna.

There are four workshop spots available Saturday, and five Sunday. Then I am closing registration, because I want everyone to have the best experience and be able to see Leyla Jouvana & Roland and not maul each other or step on delicate toes. They are such personable teachers, and a smaller group is much nicer than a giant crowd.

Worthy of world class performing. And we do have a great line-up. It would be worthwhile just to come to see Leyla Jouvana & Roland. But we also have dancers coming to perform who warrant your attention! If you live anywhere near the Chattanooga area (Atlanta is 1.5 h away; Nashville 2 h; Knoxville 2 h... Asheville NC is 3.5 h... I just drove that recently...).

Thanks! I will let you know Monday hopefully. I have been trying to get my schedule worked around since Faye told me about it at Morocco in in Asheville. I am really hoping I can make it out there and that theatre looks awesome.

If anyone has flyers they want to share... send them or bring them this weekend... we'll put them at the show and the workshops for people to pick-up.

I'm saying goodbye to Leyla and Roland tomorrow, and sending them off to Massachusetts and then Seattle! Ya'll enjoy them.. We surely did. They are so generous with their wisdom and talent. The workshops were excellent, and well-attended (thanks, everyone!) and the show was amazing. We enjoyed the performances of many talented dancers the night of 07.07.07! It was a lucky night indeed. Thanks to everyone who supported this event. It was worth all the effort on my part.
