Update: Tempest in Delaware in September...sqweeee!!

    Tempest is coming
    Tempest is coming

and Delaware is NOT too far for many of you east coasters!!! ..g.:
Not too far off of I-95 (or 273, 896, rt 1, for those who don't like I-95)
    at the MD/DE border

    On September 6, 2008
    At the George Wilson Center
    in Newark DE

    11:00 am – 1:00 pm
Dancing on the Right Side of the Brain
Artists, writers, and other creative folk are said to be “right-brained” –they think in pictures, images, and random patterns. Engineers, accountants, and other number/fact people are said to be “left-brained”—meaning they think more mathematically, linearly, orderly. Learn to unleash your creative side and truly be "in the moment" with your dancing. Often, a dancer can get too focused on a choreography, counting of steps, beats, and therefore become “left-brained” in their dancing –meaning they’re being technical, and not dancing creatively, spontaneously, from the heart! In this unusual workshop, we’re going to do some mental and physical exercises that will help you engage your right brain in your dancing!

    1:30 pm – 3:30 pm
    Drop Dead Dramatic!
This workshop is the next level past “Dramatic Body Language”, with all new gothic combinations focusing on level changes, floorwork, turns and spins while combining concept execution successfully with movement. Students will build further upon their gothic movement foundation, while adding more style, personality, and depth to their vocabulary. This class is ideal for the more advanced dancer truly looking to capture that theatrical edge and dramatic feel to their performance. Students may wish to bring knee pads or a yoga mat for the floorwork section of this workshop.

    6:00 pm – 8:00 pm (doors open at 5:30)
    Gothla
A Gothla is a gothic Halfa. All styles of bellydance are welcome, but use of alternative music is encouraged. There will vendors as well as performances. Interested in performing? Contact Lorelei at lorelei.dancer@gmail.com

$40 for individual workshops (includes Gothla)
$70 both workshop and Gothla (includes Gothla) after 8/23 up to $80
    Gothla alone $5

    Bump

workshops still have space in them (but people have signed up, so don't wait till the last minute or there may not be room)

A few dance spots left in the gothla. For the remaining spots, those taking workshops have preference (mostly becuase of gas prices).

Vendors with Tribal and cab items have been confirmes: including but not limited to chain maile jewlery, skirts/armes/choli, other jewelry, hip scarves, full cab costumes, zills, EYE CANDY GLITTER!!! , and henna!!!

    woohoo :)

Y'all can see a review of "Dancing on the Right Side of the Brain" from a fellow bhuzzer who took the workshop at Gothla UK here: http://www.bhuz.com/forum/vbnews.php...ticle&artid=47

And FYI, this DE event will most likely be my last mid-atlantic workshop series for this year. Due to the fact that I will be out of the country for 1/2 of September, and traveling out of state nearly every weekend in October and two in November and December (with the *possible* exception of doing Thanksgothing), I don't plan on holding any more Jersey Shore intensives for the rest of the year.

Just wanted to post kudos to Lorelei for putting on a great event - despite ex-hurricane Hannah's efforts to wash us all away, workshops were packed, and every seat was taken for the gothla! Great job, lovely community, thanks to everyone who was a part! :)
