Thread: Wanna design my website???

Hi ladies! I know some of you have designed your own and other's websites. I know it's simple, easy, I could do it myself, etc...but I just don't feel like it! I need something simple (really really simple) that I can update myself. You don't have to respond here if you dont want to...You can just send me a PM if you like with your prices, some samples if you have any, etc!

I have been trying to work with free web editors but the instructions suck and I can't take it anymore! I'm just not as patient as I used to be! I used to actually *want* to learn things like this!

I've built sites with Frontpage and will never do it again...just too high of a learning curve. It took way too long to figure stuff out and get everything "just so." Of course, once that site was up, updating was fairly simple.

I've also paid big bucks for specialized software that promised to make the whole process easy...again, big learning curve. I'm an impatient sort.

Recently I found the absolute easiest system you could possible imagine. It's all drag 'n drop. You can tweak things any way you want with custom html, but you don't have to. You can get a site up and running, complete with photos, videos, anything you want -- in less than an hour! And it's completely free! Both the software and the hosting. (If you already have a dedicated host, you can still use it...but you don't have to)

It's called Weebly. Here's the URL:

You can have 2 sites free. After that, you pay a little extra (like 4 or 5 dollars a month)

Whatever you choose, be confident that you can do this! Don't get overwhelmed by all the advice and possibilities...just start somewhere and keep moving forward.

Nothin' fancy, but they're clean and easy to navigate, or so I'm told. I use Dreamweaver for everything!!

I am a total novice when it comes to websites. My husband set me up with a Yahoo website and I hated it because I could never get it to do what I wanted, I couldn't ever figure it out on my own, and updating stuff on it was a pain.
Recently I wanted to dramatically change the look of the site and found godaddy.com, I tried out their Website Tonight. I *LOVE* it! It's sooo easy to use. It took me about 2 days and I can update it in a minute.
Some of the pros here might think this is bit primitive but it does the job and I like the look.

I used Godaddy when I was running for city council. It was pretty easy to update. I had someone else create it for me and all I had to do was update. I am testing out siteskins right now...I like it. It was pretty easy to use.

My fiancee does web design and is looking to expand his business beyond his family. He does pretty cool things with Flash.
