Thread: Would anyone be willing to accept an apprentice in Southern Florida?

I live in southern florida(miami) and would love to get the experience of apprenticing someone at any parties, restaurants etc...
I wouldn't necessarily have to dance as long as I could tag along and see how you do things.
I could even collect your tips for you and help you with costuming..
I think it would be great experience and I don't know many people who have regular gigs.

Do you have a teacher who gigs? That might be your best avenue for this type of work and is how lot's of dancers get their start.

You know, I don't think so. I will have to ask around..I know some of the teachers are in the troupe but I don't think that they gig by themselves.

I was hoping to find someone who is always busy with gigs, plus I don't want to pressure someone into taking me, which I feel like I would be doing if I went up to an instructor and said " hey can I apprentice you"?.

I want to find someone who is willing and eager so by posting here, someone can either take it or leave it and not be pressured.
