Well, technically, we're in Orange County but, hey, close enuf!

You can workshop, or you can hafla, or you can do both!

Workshop (noon) with yours truly is an intro to 6/8 and 9/8 meters: how to recognize them and a few moves and music examples for each. Handout includes finger cymbal patterns. (cymbals are optional)

The Hafla starts at 1:45pm! Included in admission to the Hafla is a light Mediterranean refreshment buffet and beverages. You are welcome to sign up to dance -- a very low-key, friendly atmosphere -- also open dancing! And don't forget the vendors!

For those of you who are familiar with Market at the Casbah Middle Eastern Dance Festival: the Workshop & Hafla are at the same location as the annual dance festival, but will be held in what is used as the workshop room for the festival -- very intimate space perfect for a casual hafla!

Ya'll can come as early as 11:30am to check in (if already registered) or to register for the workshop and sign up to dance!
