Thread: Arabian Nights Hookah Lounge (IL)

Hi everybody!
I have some exciting news for hookah lovers!
There is a hookah lounge in Schaumburg....
and we're going to have a Hafla there! ..g.:

I don't have all the details yet, but I'm going to post what I do have.
I will be finalizing plans this week...

Arabian Nights Hookah Lounge in Schaumburg
1224 N Roselle Road

The Arabian Nights Hookah Lounge has a wonderful atmosphere,
many flavors for the hookahs,
internet acess,
and on Saturday, November 8th.....a Hafla!

The lounge has 3 rooms to party in,
So the performances will be slightly different then a regular Hafla.
There will be no center stage,
performers will have 3 rooms to dance in.

So there will be less performers then usual, with longer sets.

If you would like to stop by Arabian Nights Hookah Lounge
here is more info on their regular buisness:
There is a $10 minimum for each person,
Hookahs are $10 and up
Drinks are $1 and up (they have GREAT Guava juice)
They do not sell alcohol or food.
If you would like to bring your own food, it is $1 charge.
If you would like them to order food for you, it is a $2 charge.
There are 3 rooms,
the large room has a tv, and ping pong table,
the smaller rooms have low cushions to sit on.
Last time I was there the people in the room next to us-
brought their wii and hooked it up to the internet acess!
Sunday - Thursday: 4pm - midnight
Friday - Saturday 4pm - 2am

YAY! I finally have all of the details!

The Hafla will be Saturday, November 8th
Starting at 7pm - going till whenever... they close at 2am

There is a $5 cover for the Hafla
& they have a $10 minimum per person. (in drinks or hookah)
Arabian Nights Hookah Lounge does not have food or alcohol for sale.
You can bring food with you ($1 charge)
or they can order food for you ($2 charge toward your minimum)

Performers do not have a cover or minimum.
We can have up to 6 performers.
So since it is so few performers, each performer will have 10 minutes of
performing time, but no more then 20 minutes.
Tipping the performers IS allowed! (YAY! money showers!) bring your singles!

The performers will have a back room to change and leave their things.

There is a parking lot & Internet acess
and of course....Open Dancing with DJ Instant Cash!!!!

I think we may have a full line-up as of right now?
I'm going to start emailing the above performers tomorrow-

I'm not sure if there will be a next one...
let's see how this one goes first!

you can tip the performers!!!
each performer will be dancing about 10-20 minutes!

My head is still spinning from last night!
The atmosphere was amazing,
the excitement of all of the birthdays,
the money showers,
the open dance,
the power and grace of all the performers....

Your set was AMAZING! You are a zillin' machine!
And the luck of the costume goddess- WOW!

I really enjoyed watching people throw money at you
...at one point you did a spin around the room,
and the money shower was like 'the wave' at a ball park.

I would love to perform with you again at Arabian Nights.
We just have to look at a calendar to find a good date-
any suggestions???

It was certainly a lot of fun last night! All the dancers were fabulous! The music was exhilarating! So...umm...when is the next one?

I was thinking sometime in 2009 as well.
December is packed with stuff!

Our Saturdays in January are: 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st
do any of those dates sound good?
Does anybody know if anything else is scheduled on those dates?
I checked the Chicago MECDA site, nothing as of yet...

(I would also lean toward one of the later dates)

I'm not aware of anything on those dates. I can't do the 10th but the other dates are fine with me.

Sorry to be so late to post my thanks for including me in the hafla. I had a blast! It was the perfect venue for a belly dance show...the atmosphere was like something out of a movie (1001 Arabian Nights? Lawrence of Arabia?). :cr:

The audience was so generous with their applause and tips. This is a great opportunity for any dancer. Thanks again for making it happen.
