Any events coming up in the southeast in the fall/winter months?

Yes, there's Planet Egypt, on the last thursday of the month, Saqarah haflahs monthly, a new monthly showcase event starting in a couple of weeks time, called Silk Route... I'll be hosting a haflah myself in a couple of months.

Oh.... you mean the south east of AMERICA!!!

Where in the south east? .w.: There's a workshop in New Orleans around November 1st and Aradia is coming here for a special class in November as well.

Oh, I guess I was being awfully geocentric! (I think I just made that up). Anyway, I was wondering about anything driving distance from Knoxville, TN. North Carolina Asheville stuff is always good, Atlanta is good, etc... Samara is coming to Knoxville November 15th. I was curious about what else is going on.

I didn't know about the event space on Bhuz. *slaps self on forehead* now I know where to look!

Ava Flemming is coming to Asheville Nov 8 and 9th..I am driving out there from Raleigh to go to the workshops

It always seems like stuff is going on in Asheville..not sure about the other areas...

Can't make Nov 1, but what is Oasis Dance Camp? Sounds intriguing...

Their website is Oasis Dance Camp They are held in several locations, actually. I know quite a few people who have gone and loved it. It's run by Cassandra Shore. If I can scrape the $ together, I really want to go!!!

This is probably way far out, but Morocco will be in GA in April.

As for closer events, Shani is bringing Tarik Sultan in January to ATL and I think Aziza is coming with SFP in March

All locations are still tentative, which is why registration/payment plan/final details haven't gone up. I'm hoping to have that up in the next few weeks.

She's coming in on Friday April 24 and that night there will be a fun "Tribute to Morocco" show/meet other people and hang out hafla.

Saturday she will be teaching an Oriental bit in the morning and Moroccan Guedra in the afternoon. That night there will be another show with Morocco performing, more oriental dance and some other international acts (currently I have an Irish step dancer and a flamenco dancer interested in performing).

Sunday will be a cane workshop and "slow moves" workshop.

And back to the original thread topic... I just remembered that Alchemy (in Augusta) has Moria coming in 2-3 weeks and Unmata coming in May.

Looking into June of next year, Yousry will be in Knoxville...his last tour...

I'm looking forward to New Orleans!! My dance company will be with me, I'm doing a 2 hour lecture and dance presentation at Southern Louisiana University, so we will have dances of North Africa as well as Asia Minor, folklore, oriental that's on Nov 19th. Then I'm teaching a workshop/master class Nov 21st, here is the link Eventbrite - Aradia of Las Vegas Lebanese Oriental Master Class
